After living my entire life in the South and Southwest, my family and I moved to Seattle, WA in January 2015. While we enjoyed our time in the Pacific Northwest, the pull to return home eventually won out. In the summer of 2018, we returned to Dallas, Texas, where I had been living since 1994 and where I met my husband. Our twins were born in Dallas. So, Dallas is “home.”
Southern In Seattle was born from my need to write about my experiences as a new person in a place where no one knew me. As a southerner, it was most natural for me to share about the things I love about the South and my southern finds in Seattle. Now that my address is once again in Dallas, this blog is focused on things I am doing and learning in the hopes that you find a few nuggets that are helpful.
For anyone who has lived away from home, feeling lost in your new surroundings, not sure of your next steps, this blog is for you. I am grateful to have called Seattle home for a short while. Southern In Seattle, at its core, is about transition and evolution, giving you a look inside my journey. Enjoy.
